Monthly Makers: Poetry as Art Practice with Ankoor Patel

Writing poetry has found a place in daily life throughout the entirety of Asian art history. From identifying landscapes in the shapes of words to adorning pot lids with spiritual reminders, join in a long Asian tradition of living alongside your own poetry.

Engage a variety of materials, media, and techniques as you incorporate your written words into art pieces and objects inspired by the Asian Art Museum collection. “We are all not only writers,” says program facilitator Ankoor Patel, “but the poet laureates of our own lives.”
