Artist Member Night | Storytelling through Sculptural Pottery
Create Reimagined Vessels with Risa Iwasaki Culbertson
New Japanese Clay asks you to reimagine pottery in form, sculptural, and abstract using both traditional and non-traditional methods to find new ways of telling stories. We invite you to come experience this new collection on a deeper level, with behind the scenes access and creating your own works of art.
Start the evening off with meeting your community of fellow artists, members, and the museum family before we head off to see New Japanese Clay led by Dr. Robert Mintz. Once we’ve soaked up some inspiration, we’ll head to create our own reimagined “vessel” activity, led by artist Risa Iwasaki Culbertson.
Schedule
5:15 PM | Meet and greet with fellow artists, members, and the museum family.
5:30 PM | Dive into the new exhibition with a tour by Dr. Robert Mintz.
6 PM | Make your own reimagined vessel, activity led by Risa.
Tickets are free for members and their guests. Reservations are recommended.
